In order to promote lifelong learning in basic and advanced clinical nutrition and to facilitate the academic pursuits of more number of nutrition support clinicians and clinical nutritionists  from the educational institutions, hospitals and health care settings, The Indian Association for Parenteral and Enteral Nutrition (IAPEN) Recognized 8 Centres throughout India.

How to Apply? 

Organizations/Departments/individuals interested in advanced clinical nutrition can apply for IAPEN recognition. A brief summary about the department can be mailed to info@iapen.co.in along with the below details.   

1. Names and IAPEN Membership Numbers of at-least 5 employees of the organization along with the Organizational Membership Details. 

2. Publication details of manuscript in Journal of Nutrition Research (IAPEN) or Clinical Nutrition (ESPEN) or Journal of Parenteral and Enteral Nutrition (ASPEN) or proof of award of course completion certificate from IAPEN for atleast three employees. 

3. Any other recognitions from any PEN organizations (IAPEN/ESPEN/ASPEN/NESPEN/KAPEN etc.. ). 

4. Letter of Recommendation from any One Regional Officers/Hon Chapter Secretaries of IAPEN. 


Basis for Recognition

IAPEN has independently conducted investigation for about five years to identify the list of organizations throughout India. IAPEN is not interested in Advanced Equipments, World Class Infrastructure, Buildings, Government Awards or Recognitions or certifications etc. IAPEN promotes lifelong learning and we respect and recognize individuals, who wish to go beyond for lifelong learning. IAPEN will closely observe the lifelong learning activities of the individuals present in the organization. Lifelong learning activities include, attending conferences, publishing manuscripts, taking up various courses, internships, encouraging lifelong learning activities etc. The recognition will be given only to the selected organizations after due verification of the lifelong learning activities of the experts working in the organizations. 


Benefits of Recognition

By 2022, IAPEN is planning to eradicate Malnutrition in India. The release of the list of centres is the first step toward strengthening the Advanced Clinical Nutrition in India. IAPEN is planning to mentor about 2 Lakh Nutrition Support Clinicians and Clinical Nutritionists throughout India. Based on our calculations, one nutrition support clinician or clinical nutritionist is required for every twenty patients. IAPEN requires support from many organizations to achieve this Hercules task of training 2 Lakh lifelong learners on par with International Standards.  

Benefits to Public

Any patient with typical complications related to Clinical Nutrition can contact the above organizations for possible help and support. IAPEN abide to the following statement by Hon Supreme Court of India, "No one should die of starvation or malnutrition" Sep. 14, 2011. Supreme Court of India. The organizations were spread 500 kilometers throughout India but by 2022, IAPEN will try to bring to 20 kilometers throughout India.
